one of the many Swiss members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, of which he has been a member since 1997, took to the violin like a virgin to a child: a friend took the then eight-year-old to violin lessons in 1972. The consequences are well known. After studying with Rudolf Bamert, former concertmaster of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, at the Musikhochschule in Winterthur, in the master class of Aida Stucki and then in Amsterdam with Herman Krebbers, and with the experience of several master classes (including with Walter Levin and the Melos Quartet), Streuli became concertmaster of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn and violinist in the Concertgebouw Orkest before moving to Berlin. With the Philharmonic, he plays in several chamber music formations, such as the Scharoun Ensemble. Since 2003 he has been a member of the Berlin Baroque Soloists. In addition to music, he enjoys literature, film and – naturally for a Swiss – skiing.
